The Mechanical Insulation Grant Program (Program) will provide grants to eligible individuals, nonprofit organizations, and business entities to help incentivize the installation of mechanical insulation on a commercial or industrial property, thereby enabling energy-saving improvements to large-scale thermal distribution networks. Please see the Funding Opportunity Announcement below for more information


Application Deadline: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis until funding is fully awarded or until March 22, 2024 at 5 P.M., whichever occurs first.  Earlier application submittals are strongly encouraged in order to have the best chance of obtaining funding under the Program.

  • The Jane E. Lawton Conservation Loan Program, which lends funding at below-market interest rates, to obtain loan financing to supplement FY24 Mechanical Insulation grants or for financing the installation of other energy efficiency technologies.
  • The FY24 Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural (CI&A) Grant Program, which defrays the cost of installing eligible energy efficiency improvements. 
  • Note that both Lawton Loans and CI&A Grants can be used to defray the cost of implementing building shell insulation. ​​​
